As we age, our facial support structure weakens, and, due to aging, we lose facial fat. The areas affected generally include the cheeks, the eyebrows, other areas around the eyes, the jowls and the neck. This therefore results in a longer, older-looking face. Due to aging skin the connective tissue in the skin becomes thinner and the elastic fibres in the skin undergo a type of “breakdown”. The face loses some of its elasticity and as a result of this change, brings with it the departure of certain face-shaping supports and the face begins to “sag” and “wrinkle”.
The non surgical facelift makes use of threads that are inserted under the skin and pull the skin tighter. The threads finally dissolve over a period of approximately 2 years.
The procedure requires less downtime for recovery and is less expensive than surgical procedures.
